(and How to Rewire for Wealth & Worth)
With deep gratitude and full credit to my guest, Karen Berzanski of TheLuckySoul.com (@theluckysoul), for her insights, story, and practical tools shared in our conversation. Some ideas and phrases below are adapted from our interview which can you watch on YouTube here
“We don’t have a “money problem.” We have a nervous system + belief problem that shows up in the numbers.”
That’s the thread that ran through my conversation with Karen Berzanski—coach, tapping practitioner, and founder of M-Spot, a membership that helps women clear hidden money blocks so they can earn, receive, and lead with confidence. Karen’s own path took her from a traumatic accident and chronic pain, to paying off $13k in debt, to teaching women how to change their relationship with money so different actions (and results) become possible.
This post distills the highlights of that conversation—plus how I integrate shamanic healing and HeartMath nervous-system work with the mindset rewiring piece.
It’s Not About the Money (It’s About the Roots)
Karen uses a brilliant garden metaphor:
Many of us treat debt, undercharging, or feast-and-famine income like weeds—snipping them at soil level with budget apps and hacks. The roots—old stories, emotions, inherited fear—stay in the soil, and the weeds return.
Root work can look like:
- Naming the stories you absorbed about money (“Money is bad,” “You have to work hard for every cent,” “If I have more, someone else has less.”)
- Feeling the emotions you’ve been avoiding (shame, fear, resentment, grief).
- Finding origin points (childhood moments, family modeling, cultural messaging, and intergenerational trauma).
When we do the root work, the surface-level tools finally work.
The Inheritance We Didn’t Ask For
We’re not starting from a blank slate. For generations, women were locked out of bank accounts, credit, and leadership. That history lodges itself as programming:
- “It isn’t safe to have power.”
- “Someone else should handle the money.”
- “If I succeed, I’ll be judged, resented, or taken down.”
Studies on intergenerational trauma and epigenetics echo what many of us feel in our bones: we carry inherited fear responses. In my own shamanic work, I uncovered the belief “women are worthless” in my maternal line. Clearing that energetically changed my productivity and presence almost overnight. When we heal the lineage, we reclaim our worth—and our capacity to earn and receive.
Regulate First, Then Rewire
You can’t dream big or make clean decisions from freaked-out brain (Karen’s perfect nickname for an amygdala in overdrive). Two practices help:
- EFT Tapping (Karen’s specialty)
- Gentle tapping on acupressure points while speaking the truth of what you feel.
- Signals safety to the body, lowers stress, and turns on what Karen calls “peace brain.”
- From this state, numbers are just numbers—not proof of your inadequacy.
- HeartMath Coherence (my specialty)
- Breath-led techniques that shift you from fight/flight to coherent (calm, focused, resourced).
- Once the nervous system settles, you can see clearly, choose wisely, and follow through.
Regulation doesn’t replace strategy; it makes strategy usable.
The Sneaky Beliefs That Keep Women Under-Earning
Karen sees a familiar set of programs in her community (I see them too):
- “Money is evil / spiritual people shouldn’t care about money.”
- “If I have more, others have less.” (Zero-sum myth.)
- “I must work hard for money.” (So we overcomplicate, over-produce, and burn out.)
- “Who am I to…?” (Visibility, pricing, leadership, and receiving all get throttled.)
Antidotes:
- Ask, “How could this be 20% easier?”
- Ship B-minus work. Your people want resonance, not polish.
- Replace zero-sum thinking with value creation and circulation (wealth as a rising tide).
Three Moves to Start Today (from Karen)
- Make a “What I Want” List (Maktub List).
Capture desires—from tiny delights to big dreams. Let wanting be safe again. - Tap Where the Resistance Lives.
As the “Who am I to want that?” voices appear, tap through them. Notice the thoughts, the sensations, the memories—and keep tapping until the charge drops. - Practice Worthiness.
Try this affirmation:
“I am worthy and deserving of the best that life has to offer. Nothing is too good for me.”
Say it out loud. Wherever your body or brain flinches—tap there.
Try This: A 10-Minute Wealth & Worth Mini-Ritual
- Coherence Breath (2 minutes). Inhale to a slow count of 5, exhale 5, breathing through the heart area.
- Desire Drop (3 minutes). Add three things to your Maktub list (one tiny, one practical, one audacious).
- Tap & Tell the Truth (5 minutes).
- “Even though part of me believes X, I’m open to feeling safe receiving Y.”
- Tap through the resistance sentence by sentence until your breath deepens.
- Finish with: “I’m willing to let this be easier.”
Progress, Not Perfection
Waiting to be perfect is the most expensive habit many women have. Publish the post. Make the offer. Send the invoice. Record the imperfect video. As Karen says, B-minus work ships—and wealth responds to motion.
