Before You Begin
Find a quiet space where you can sit comfortably and won’t be interrupted for about 15 minutes.
This practice works through visualisation and imagination, sometimes called the “mind’s eye.” There’s no right or wrong way to experience it. Some people see clear images, while others simply sense or feel what’s happening — both are completely fine.
During the practice you’ll be invited to bring to mind a person, situation, or emotional pattern that has been weighing on you. You’ll then gently release the energetic cords connecting you so your attention and energy can return to you.
If you need more time at any point — for example, to say what needs to be said in the visualisation — simply pause the audio and continue when you feel ready.
You can return to this practice whenever something feels heavy or unresolved. Each time you do it, you may notice new insights or a deeper sense of relief.
Take a slow breath, press play, and give yourself 15 minutes to release what’s been weighing on you.
After the Practice
If you’ve just completed the cord cutting practice, take a moment to notice how you feel.
For some people, the shift is immediate — a sense of relief, lightness, or space where there was tension before. Others notice more subtle changes over the next few hours or days, such as thinking less about the situation or feeling less emotionally pulled by it.
Both responses are completely normal.
When we visualise energetic cords, we are simply giving the mind and nervous system a way to recognise and release emotional entanglement. These cords often form through patterns of obligation, unresolved conversations, worry, or the feeling that we are responsible for someone else’s emotions.
The act of seeing the cord, cutting it, and burning it symbolises a shift in your relationship to that situation. You are signalling to your system that you no longer need to carry that energetic connection in the same way.
This doesn’t erase the person or situation from your life. Instead, it helps return your attention and emotional energy back to yourself, where it belongs.
If you’d like to deepen the shift, you may find the reflection prompts below helpful.
Who or what situation did you choose to work with in the practice?
Why do you think this came to mind first?
What did you find yourself wanting to say during the conversation?
Were there feelings or truths that surprised you?
What response did you imagine hearing back?
Sometimes our psyche reveals the hidden dynamic in these moments.
Where did you sense the energetic cords in your body?
Heart, throat, belly, back, or somewhere else?
How did your body feel after the cords were cut and burned?
Notice any shifts in tension, breathing, or emotional tone.
What might help you keep your energy with you going forward?
If You’d Like to Go Deeper
Practices like this can be powerful for releasing the emotional weight of a single situation or interaction.
But sometimes the patterns that keep pulling on our energy run much deeper — old relationship dynamics, long-standing emotional entanglements, or parts of ourselves that stepped away during difficult experiences.
This is where the deeper work I offer, such as 1:1 guided energetic cord clearing and shamanic soul retrieval, can help bring your energy back home more fully.

Your energy belongs with you.
