A Grounded Framework for Real Personal Change

If you’ve been following my work for a while, you’ll have heard me talk about the Andean Medicine Wheel.

And if you’re new here, you might be thinking: Is this something spiritual? Cultural? Symbolic? Woo-woo?

Let me explain it in normal-human language.

The Andean Medicine Wheel is an ancient framework from the Andes of South America. It maps personal growth through four direction; South, West, North and East, each associated with a different stage of transformation.

It isn’t about believing in anything.
It isn’t about adopting a new identity.
It isn’t about pretending to be someone you’re not.

It’s a map.

A structured, intelligent way to move through change instead of endlessly circling the same patterns.

And I use it because it works.

Why We Get Stuck

Most women I work with aren’t lacking insight.

They’ve read the books.
They’ve done therapy.
They’ve journaled.
They understand their childhood.

And yet… certain patterns still repeat.

Over-functioning.
People-pleasing.
Waiting for someone else to change.
Holding resentment.
Playing small.
Doubting themselves.

That’s because insight alone doesn’t create transformation.

You need a process.

The Medicine Wheel gives us that process.

The Four Directions of Change

🐍 South — Shedding (Serpent)

The South is about release.

It asks: What are you still carrying that you’ve outgrown?

Old identities.
Inherited beliefs.
Roles you stepped into for survival.
Emotional armour that once protected you but now limits you.

Serpent energy is practical. It helps you shed skins that no longer fit.

This is where we stop intellectualising and start letting go.

Not dramatically.
Not performatively.

Just honestly.

🐆 West — Courage (Jaguar)

The West is where you face what you avoid.

This is shadow work, but not in a scary way.

It’s the unconscious beliefs you hold.
The anger you’ve swallowed.
The resentment you don’t voice.
The power you suppress.
The truth you don’t say.

Jaguar doesn’t react.
Jaguar walks calmly into the dark and sees clearly.

In this direction, you stop being run by your unconscious patterns and start responding from conscious choice.

This is where real self-leadership begins.

🐦 North — Perspective (Hummingbird)

The North brings lightness.

After you’ve released and faced what needs facing, something shifts.

You begin to see your life differently.

Hummingbird represents the long journey — the ability to go the distance without collapsing.

Here you:
Stop over-identifying with the story.
Gain perspective.
Reconnect to meaning and purpose.
Trust yourself more deeply.

This is where wisdom starts to replace reactivity.

🦅 East — Vision (Eagle / Condor)

The East is about becoming.

You’re no longer defined by what hurt you.
You’re no longer looping in old survival roles.

From here, you can see clearly.

You begin living into who you are becoming — not who you were conditioned to be.

This is the direction of vision, clarity and aligned action.

Not forced action.
Not reactive decisions.

Aligned movement.

Why I Use This Framework in My Workshop

When I guide women through Weaving A New Way, we don’t sit around talking in circles.

We move.

Through the directions.
Through the layers.
Through the stuck places.

We use coaching.
We use guided journey work.
We use practical belief shifting.
We rewrite the narrative that has quietly shaped your choices.

The Medicine Wheel gives structure to what can otherwise feel overwhelming.

Instead of: “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”

We explore:
What needs shedding?
What needs facing?
What perspective is missing?
What vision wants to emerge?

It becomes grounded.
Navigable.
Possible.

You Don’t Have to “Believe” in Anything

You don’t need to see animals in visions.
You don’t need to be mystical.
You don’t need to call yourself spiritual.

This framework works because it mirrors how growth naturally unfolds.

Release.
Face.
Integrate.
Vision.

It’s psychological.
It’s archetypal.
It’s deeply practical.

And when you move through it intentionally, something shifts.

You stop waiting.
You stop looping.
You start self-leading.

If You’re Ready to Move

If you’re at a point in your life where:

• You know something needs to change
• You’re tired of repeating the same dynamics
• You want clarity without bypassing the hard parts
• You want a grounded but powerful process

This is exactly what we’ll be doing at Weaving A New Way.

Two days.
A small group of women.
A structured journey through the four directions.
Practical tools you can actually use in your life.

Not abstract.
Not dramatic.

Real change.

If that speaks to you, you can find the details and book your place HERE.

And if you’re still curious, stay with me.

This work has depth.
And it meets you exactly where you are.
