What Are You Feeding the Field?

There’s a concept in Andean shamanic practice called the poqpo — your luminous energy bubble.

It’s understood as the energetic field that surrounds and interpenetrates your body. It holds your experiences, your emotional imprints, your vitality. It responds to your thoughts, your moods, your integrity, or lack thereof.

In modern scientific language, the HeartMath Institute speaks about the heart’s electromagnetic field. The heart produces the strongest rhythmic electromagnetic signal in the body, and that signal changes depending on your emotional state. Stress produces incoherence. Appreciation and compassion produce measurable coherence.

Two different frameworks.
One shared truth.

You are broadcasting.

The question is — what are you feeding the field?

Your Energetic Field Is Not Private

We like to believe our inner world is self-contained.

It isn’t.

You’ve walked into a room and felt tension before anyone spoke.
You’ve sat next to someone calm and felt your own breathing soften.
You’ve been around someone resentful and felt strangely drained.

That’s field-to-field communication.

Your nervous system is constantly reading the room. And the room is reading you.

Your emotional state does not stay inside your skin.

It radiates.

Resentment, Regulation & Coherence

When you are:

  • Replaying unspoken arguments
  • Carrying resentment
  • Over-functioning and self-abandoning
  • Living in quiet anxiety

Your field contracts. It becomes tight, protective, braced.

When you are:

  • Clear about your needs
  • Speaking truth cleanly
  • Regulating your nervous system
  • Acting in alignment with yourself

Your field becomes coherent. Steady. Spacious.

And coherence is contagious.

This is not about toxic positivity. It’s about responsibility.

You are contributing to the emotional climate of every room you enter.

The Collective Field: Emotional Weather

Zoom out.

If enough people are broadcasting outrage, fear and bitterness, that becomes the emotional weather.

If enough people are practising steadiness, courage and self-trust, that shifts the tone.

You are not responsible for everyone’s nervous system.

But you are responsible for what you rehearse internally.

Every resentment replayed.
Every story of powerlessness.
Every moment of conscious self-regulation.

You are feeding something.

How Other People’s Energy Affects You

If you are porous, exhausted or unboundaried, other people’s emotional states can hook straight into your system.

You absorb.
You manage.
You carry what isn’t yours.

This is especially common in women who have been conditioned to over-function.

It’s not weakness.
It’s adaptation.

But it’s also something you can change.

How to Manage Your Energetic Field

This doesn’t require hours of meditation or incense (unless you like incense).

It requires practice.

1. Regulate first.
Longer exhales. Slow your breath. Ground your body.

2. Clear negative emotions.
Unspoken negativity stagnates in the field. Speak it, process it, move it.

3. Strengthen boundaries.
A coherent field is not a hard wall, it’s clear.

4. Practise heart coherence.
In HeartMath terms, generate genuine appreciation or compassion and sustain it for 60–90 seconds. This measurably shifts your physiological state.

5. Energetic hygiene.
Time in nature. Water. Shaking out your body. Stepping barefoot on the earth. Simple practices that discharge accumulated stress.

You don’t need to become impenetrable.

You need to become coherent.

Sovereignty Is Energetic Responsibility

The deeper question underneath all of this is:

What emotional tone are you practising daily?

What are you rehearsing in your inner world?

Are you feeding:

  • Resentment?
  • Scarcity?
  • Fear?
  • Comparison?

Or are you cultivating:

Your field reflects your relationship with yourself.

And that relationship shapes your life.

If you want to shift the collective, start with your own coherence.

Because your nervous system is not separate from the world.

It is participating in it.
