A Powerful Transition of Inner Healing, Self-Worth & Embodied Freedom
There are years that look productive on the outside.
And then there are years that change you.
The Year of the Snake has been the latter for me.
On paper, it might have looked like a pause, a slowdown and a frustrating lack of traction or progress.
Internally, it has been anything but quiet.
This has been a year of shedding skins I didn’t even realise I was still wearing.
Old identities. Old coping strategies. Old ways of proving my worth through effort, over-functioning, and endurance. Snake energy doesn’t rush this process, it insists you feel it. Fully. Somatically. Honestly.
The process has been pretty uncomfortable.
The Year of the Snake: When Life Dismantles You from the Inside
Snake years work beneath the surface.
They don’t announce their lessons loudly. Instead, they create a sense of liminality; that in-between space where the old way no longer works, but the new way hasn’t fully formed yet.
This year has asked me to:
- Sit with uncertainty instead of forcing clarity
- Listen to my nervous system rather than override it
- Question beliefs I once accepted as “just the way I am”
- Acknowledge grief for versions of my life that are ending
There were moments where it felt like everything was unravelling at once; business identity, relationships, confidence, direction. The temptation was to label that as failure, because it felt like my life was falling apart at the seams.
But Snake doesn’t destroy without purpose.
It initiates.
Looking back, I can see that this year wasn’t about outward success. It was about inner authority. About no longer abandoning myself to keep the peace, stay safe, or appear capable.
Snake energy strips away illusion, especially the illusion that hustling harder will bring alignment.
The Quiet Work No One Sees (But Everything Depends On)
One of the hardest parts of the Year of the Snake is that the work is largely invisible.
There’s no immediate applause for:
- Healing your relationship with rest
- Learning to regulate your nervous system
- Releasing identities built on survival
- Choosing self-trust over external validation
And yet, this is the work that makes everything else sustainable.
This year forced me to slow down enough to notice where I was still living from old patterns: people-pleasing, self-doubt, pushing through discomfort rather than listening to it.
Snake taught me discernment.
It taught me boundaries.
It taught me that sovereignty begins inside the body, not in the to-do list.
🐎 The Year of the Horse: From Becoming to Being Seen
If Snake is about becoming, Horse is about expression.
The Year of the Horse doesn’t ask you to keep processing quietly, it asks:
Now that you know who you are… will you live like it?
Horse energy is outward, dynamic, and liberating, but only if it’s rooted in truth. Otherwise, it becomes frantic and uncontrollable.
This is why the transition matters.
Snake prepares the ground so Horse doesn’t burn you out.
Horse invites:
- Movement after stagnation
- Visibility after withdrawal
- Choice after hesitation
- Freedom after self-containment
Where Snake whispers, Horse runs.
Why This Transition Matters (Especially for Mid-Life Women)
So many women I work with are emerging from their own Snake years, even if they didn’t call it that.
They tell me:
- “I feel like everything fell apart before it made sense.”
- “I don’t recognise the old version of myself anymore.”
- “I know I can’t go back… but I’m scared to go forward.”
That’s not failure, that’s initiation.
The Year of the Horse doesn’t require you to have it all figured out, but it does ask you to stop betraying what you now know.
This is the year of:
- Choosing yourself without guilt
- Moving from self-doubt to embodied action
- Letting your truth be seen, not just understood
- Building a life that fits the woman you’ve become

- Where did life slow me down for a reason?
- What truth can I no longer ignore?
Horse Invitation
- What wants to move, expand, or be expressed now?
- Where am I being asked to choose freedom over familiarity?
- What would it look like to live more visibly from my truth?
- What small, embodied action feels aligned, not pressured?
A Gentle Invitation
If this reflection resonates, you don’t have to navigate this transition alone.
I work with women who are moving out of survival mode and into self-trust, sovereignty, and embodied confidence; blending nervous-system regulation, deep self-inquiry, and shamanic wisdom to support real, sustainable change.
