And Set Intentions for 2026

As 2025 comes to a close, it’s tempting to rush straight into planning, goal-setting and “fixing” yourself for the year ahead. But real, lasting change doesn’t start with pushing harder, it starts with reflection.

Taking time to consciously reflect on the past year helps regulate your nervous system, integrate lessons, release what no longer fits, and move into 2026 with clarity rather than urgency.

These end-of-year reflection questions are designed to help you:

  • Understand what actually shaped your year
  • Identify patterns that supported or sabotaged you
  • Reconnect with your values and inner compass
  • Begin 2026 from a grounded, intentional place

This isn’t about becoming a new version of you.
It’s about consciously meeting the next version of you.

How to Use These Questions

Set aside 30–45 minutes.
Bring a journal, a warm drink, and curiosity instead of judgement.

You don’t need perfect answers. You just need honesty.

12 End-of-Year Reflection Questions for 2025

1. What went well in 2025? What are you genuinely proud of?

Notice where you showed courage, consistency or self-respect, even if no one else saw it.

2. What didn’t work this year; and what did it teach you?

Every “failure” contains information. What boundaries, pacing or truths did 2025 reveal?

3. What patterns repeated themselves; in work, relationships or self-talk?

Patterns are not personal flaws. They are invitations for awareness and choice.

4. Where did your energy grow and where did it drain?

Your body always knows. Reflect on environments, commitments and people.

5. Who truly supported you this year and who couldn’t meet you where you are?

This isn’t about blame. It’s about clarity and emotional maturity.

6. What did 2025 teach you about who you are becoming?

Not what you achieved — but who you are now as a result of this year.

7. What do you want to be celebrating at the end of 2026?

Emotionally, financially, spiritually, relationally. Let yourself imagine fully.

8. What are your top 3 priorities for 2026 and why do they matter?

If the “why” isn’t strong, the goal won’t stick.

9. What habits, behaviours or beliefs need to be released before you move forward?

Growth often requires subtraction, not addition.

10. What daily or weekly practices will support your nervous system in 2026?

Sustainable change is regulated change.

11. Where did you experience joy, peace or flow this year and how can you create more?

Your future doesn’t have to be built on burnout.

12. If you met your Future Self at the end of 2026, what would they thank you for starting now?

Answer this slowly. This question changes things.

Why Reflection Alone Isn’t Enough

Reflection creates insight — but integration creates change.

Many people gain clarity at the end of the year…
…and then fall back into the same patterns by February.

That’s not a willpower issue.
It’s a nervous-system and identity alignment issue.

Final Reflection

You don’t need to reinvent yourself to create change.
You need to listen more deeply to what’s already trying to emerge.

Reflection is how we honour the past and choose the future consciously.

Take what serves you from 2025.
Release the rest.
And step into 2026 with intention, not pressure.
