Let’s be honest: nobody needs a life coach in the same way they need food, shelter or a functioning Wi-Fi connection.

You can absolutely navigate life by yourself. You’ve probably been doing it for years. You may be capable, self-aware and accustomed to solving problems without asking for much help.

But being able to manage alone doesn’t necessarily mean you have to.

And it doesn’t mean that the way you’re currently managing is working particularly well for you.

Most people don’t come to coaching because their entire life is falling apart. They come because something isn’t quite working — and they’re tired of going round in circles trying to solve it.

They might feel stuck in a relationship, uncertain about their next move or frustrated by a pattern they can see but can’t seem to change. They may have reached a point where the life they’ve built no longer feels like the life they want.

That’s where coaching can be incredibly useful.

What Does a Life Coach Actually Do?

A good life coach doesn’t tell you how to live your life.

They help you step back from the noise, look honestly at what’s happening and work out what needs to change.

Coaching gives you a dedicated space to think clearly, explore what you really want and identify what might be getting in the way. It helps you separate your own voice from the expectations, opinions and obligations you’ve accumulated over the years.

Because it’s difficult to see the whole picture when you’re standing inside it.

Friends and family can be wonderfully supportive, but they’re also part of your life. They have opinions, loyalties and their own ideas about what you should do. A coach offers a different kind of conversation: one that is focused entirely on helping you understand yourself, make conscious choices and take meaningful action.

Sometimes you need support.

Sometimes you need a strategy.

And sometimes you need someone who will lovingly point out the thing you keep avoiding.

Who Is Life Coaching For?

My coaching is particularly helpful for capable, thoughtful women who appear to have everything under control but privately feel stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected from themselves.

You might recognise yourself here if:

  • You spend a great deal of time managing everyone else’s needs and very little time considering your own.
  • You struggle to set boundaries without feeling guilty.
  • You overthink decisions and worry about making the “wrong” choice.
  • You know something needs to change, but you don’t know where to begin.
  • You repeatedly find yourself in relationships where you over-give or over-function.
  • You feel responsible for keeping everyone happy.
  • You’ve lost touch with what you actually want.
  • You understand your patterns intellectually but still find yourself repeating them.
  • You’re moving through a transition and need help deciding what comes next.
  • You’re tired of talking yourself out of the life, work or relationships you really want.

You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly articulated goal. “I can’t keep doing this” or “something has to change” is often enough of a starting point.

Part of the work is helping you understand what the real problem is.

Coaching Isn’t Just About Achieving More

Life coaching is often presented as a relentless pursuit of goals: become more productive, build the business, improve your habits and squeeze more achievement into every available hour.

That isn’t how I work.

You may want to make a practical change, grow your business, navigate a career transition or finally complete something you’ve been putting off. We can absolutely work on that.

But sometimes the most important progress looks like doing less.

It might mean ending a relationship that depends on your self-abandonment. Saying no without producing a five-page justification. Stopping the emotional heavy lifting for another adult. Allowing yourself to rest. Speaking honestly. Choosing what is right for you, even when someone else doesn’t like it.

My aim isn’t to make you more efficient at living a life that drains you.

It’s to help you create a life that feels more truthful, sustainable and your own.

“But I Already Know What My Problem Is…”

Self-awareness is valuable, but insight doesn’t always create change by itself.

You might know that you’re a people-pleaser. You might understand that your difficulty setting boundaries began in childhood. You might have read the books, listened to the podcasts and explained your attachment style in impressive detail.

And yet, when someone is disappointed with you, the familiar guilt appears and you abandon yourself all over again.

Knowing why you do something and being able to respond differently are not the same thing.

Coaching helps you take what you understand and put it into practice. We can explore what happens in the moments when you revert to an old response, develop new ways of navigating those situations and build your capacity to tolerate the discomfort that often accompanies change.

Because change isn’t just about knowing what to do. It’s also about being able to stay with yourself while you do it.

Practical Coaching With a Deeper Perspective

My approach brings together practical life coaching, emotional regulation tools, systemic thinking and, when appropriate, elements of my wider shamanic and constellation work.

Some challenges need a clear plan, an honest conversation or a better boundary.

Others have deeper roots.

A pattern may be connected to what you learnt about love, safety, belonging or responsibility within your family. You may have unconsciously taken on a role that once helped you belong but now leaves you over-functioning, self-silencing or carrying far more than your share.

This is where my systemic perspective informs the coaching process.

Rather than asking only, “What is wrong and how do we fix it?”, we might also explore:

  • Where did this pattern begin?
  • What purpose has it served?
  • What does it protect you from?
  • Who did you have to become within your family or early environment?
  • What might change threaten?
  • What would become possible if you no longer had to play this role?

Not every issue requires a constellation. Often, a focused coaching conversation and some practical tools are exactly what’s needed. But when a pattern feels unusually persistent or charged, we can explore whether deeper systemic work might be helpful.

What Can We Work On Together?

You can bring almost any area of your life to coaching, including:

  • Boundaries and people-pleasing
  • Relationship patterns
  • Difficult decisions
  • Confidence and self-trust
  • Career or business changes
  • Overwhelm and emotional regulation
  • Procrastination and feeling stuck
  • Navigating endings or new beginnings
  • Speaking up and asking for what you need
  • Letting go of roles and responsibilities that no longer belong to you
  • Creating a life that better reflects who you are now

You don’t have to wait until you’re in crisis. Coaching can be just as valuable when life looks fine from the outside but you know you’re ready for something different.

What Happens in a Coaching Session?

You bring whatever feels most important, and we begin there.

I’ll ask questions, reflect what I’m hearing and help you notice patterns, assumptions or contradictions that may be difficult to see alone. Depending on what you need, we might work with practical problem-solving, mindset shifts, body awareness, emotional regulation tools or a specific conversation or decision you’re trying to navigate.

My style is warm and supportive, but it’s also direct. I’m not going to fill the hour with noise or give you generic advice you could have found in an Instagram quote.

We’ll get to the heart of what’s happening and identify a way forward that feels realistic and aligned with you.

So, Do You Need a Life Coach?

Perhaps “Do I need a life coach?” isn’t the most useful question.

A better question might be:

Would having skilled, objective support help me create this change more clearly, consciously and quickly than continuing to wrestle with it alone?

If you’ve been thinking about the same problem for months, repeating a pattern you’re desperate to change or waiting for certainty before you take your next step, coaching could help.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.

You just need to be willing to look honestly at where you are — and open to choosing something different.

How Much Does Life Coaching Cost?

You can book a single 60-minute coaching session for £125 (R1250 for SA residents). This is ideal if you have a particular decision, challenge or situation you’d like support with.

For deeper work, I also offer coaching packages for clients who want ongoing support to change long-standing patterns, navigate a transition or create meaningful change over time.

Not sure which option is right for you? Book a complimentary discovery call and we can talk about what’s happening, what you need and the best place to begin.

Ready to Explore What Could Change?

If you’re ready for honest, grounded support with the patterns, decisions or transitions shaping your life, you can book a single coaching session or arrange a complimentary discovery call.

If you’re unsure whether coaching, a Family Constellation or another form of support would be the best place to begin, the discovery call is a good starting point. We’ll talk about what’s happening, what you’d like to change and which approach is likely to serve you best.
